Dr. Karèn Avanesov

Dr. Karèn Avanesov is a graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received a medical degree. He then completed his internship and residency training in orthopedic surgery at the Peninsula Hospital Center-North Shore Long Island Jewish Consortium. From there, Dr. Avanesov completed his spine fellowship at Nationally and Internationally recognized Leatherman Spine Center for complex spine surgery Louisville, Kentucky where he received extensive training in complex adult and pediatric spine surgery. During fellowship training Dr. Avanesov has been involved in the development and trials of several spinal instrumentation systems that in the future will be used worldwide.

Dr. Avanesov is a member of several professional medical associations, among them, the North American Spine Society, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Ostheopathic Academy.

Dr. Avanesov has published and presented in the fields of orthopedics, tumor and spinal surgery. His clinical areas of interest are Adult and Pediatric Spinal Surgery, Spinal trauma, Deformity, Scoliosis, Complex Spinal Reconstruction and Degenerative Conditions of Lumbar and Cervical Spine, Minimally invasive Spine Surgery.
