Eric Lepkowsky, MD, is a fellowship-trained adult reconstruction surgeon who provides treatment for orthopedic injuries and painful musculoskeletal conditions.  His training has allowed him to specialize in total hip and knee replacements, as well as the treatment of painful existing hip and knee implants.  Dr. Lepkowsky performs minimally invasive total hip replacements through the Direct Anterior approach. He is also skilled in the latest technologies, using robotics and computer navigation for total hip, total knee, and partial knee replacements in both the primary and revision setting.

Dr. Lepkowsky is a Long Island native and is proud to be able to serve the community in which he was born and raised. Even while attending high school, he was dedicated to helping his neighbors by working as an EMT with the Central Islip-Hauppauge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.  He later graduated Summa Cum Laude from Binghamton University where he double majored in Biology and History and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

Dr. Lepkowsky pursued his medical training at Stony Brook University’s School of Medicine.  While there, he continued his commitment to the inhabitants of Long Island by leading two medical-student run health clinics, even earning a community service award for his efforts. He graduated medical school at the top of his class receiving Alpha Omega Alpha honors, which recognizes the Top 10% of national medical students. Dr. Lepkowsky then completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Following residency, Dr. Lepkowsky continued his education with the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Orthopedic Adult Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Program. Here he trained under some of the global leaders in the field of joint replacement surgery. He has authored numerous research studies published in several orthopedic journals and is a member of both American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
