Dr. Dennis Murphy is a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon specializing in the management of complex fractures, polytrauma, and periacetabular and pelvic injuries. As Director of Orthopedic Trauma at Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC), Dr. Murphy leads a high-volume, tertiary trauma service while mentoring residents and shaping the hospital’s orthopedic trauma program.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Dr. Murphy completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then pursued an orthopedic trauma fellowship at the renowned Orlando Regional Medical Center, focusing on advanced surgical techniques in fracture management and polytrauma care.
Throughout his career, Dr. Murphy has maintained a strong commitment to academic medicine and clinical research. His work on novel techniques for pelvic reconstruction and nerve injuries has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery and Current Orthopaedic Practice. He remains actively involved in research and regularly presents at national conferences on orthopedic trauma care and surgical innovation.
